In The Ark's "Golden Years" program, adoption fees are waived for pets eight years and older adopted by senior citizens 60 years and older. Now, all "Senior Citizen" pet adoptees receive a free lifetime membership in "AARP", complete with a membership certificate suitable for framing, a lifetime membership card, and a permanent photo listing here on the Ark website's new "AARP" Membership Directory.

Ark cat BuddhaBUDDHA is a big, friendly, black and white boy of impressive size. He prefers lazing around, draped on a lap, or curled in a chair. He's just an easy going, good ol' boy, whose idea of exercise is purring up a storm when you pet him.He weighed 21 lbs. when this picture was taken, but was put on a healthy weight-loss diet at the shelter. Amanda and GaryAMANDA is a 7 1/2 year old little black pug with no teeth. She gets along with other dogs and with cats. She walks on lead, and loves to sit with her new person, Gary, and be petted. Adoption January 2007

adopted dog LukoLUCO is a neutered red and white Siberian Husky who likes everyone he meets. A handsome, sweet guy, he just wants to spend his time inside with his very own person. He doesn't want to be tied out by himself for any longer than it takes to go to the bathroom. He's a smart one, listening well and enjoying his training sessions. As long as he's with people, he's a happy boy who likes to go for car rides and for leash walks. Adoption June 2007.


Ark cat ZipperZIPPER is a winsome spayed tabby born in 1993. Her owner could no longer keep her and Zipper came to us in search of a new home. An indoor-only, declawed cat, she's very friendly with a quiet, sweet temperament. Zipper is an undemanding, happy, friendly feline. Adoption August 2007.


Ark dog SheebaSHEEBA is a pretty, slightly built, shepherd mix with a sweet, affectionate nature and basic training down pat. A quiet, loving dog, she likes everyone she meets, and gets along well with other dogs. Adoption October 2007.


Ark cat PrincessPRINCESS is a lovely 10 year-old long-haired spayed calico. Princess is content to sit on a window sill, watching the world go by, or to curl up on a bed for a relaxed snooze. Not a lap cat or a cat who needs a lot of affection, Princess will come to for attention if she wants it. Adoption October 2007.


Ark cat AmberAMBER is an orange striped tiger who loves a quiet home where she can spend her time in a lap purring to her heart's content. This 6 year-old spayed female, quiet and unassuming, gets along with other cats. Adoption October 2007.

Ark cat Sugar PlumSUGAR PLUM is a small, cute-as-a-button tortoise shell kitty. She's our miracle girl. If her former owners are to be believed, she is 20 years old! Sugar Plum is exceptionally affectionate, although we can't imagine a cat with less reason to be such a loving kitty. Adoption October 2007.


Ark dog BuddyBUDDY is a black and white, neutered border collie/spaniel mix, with a sweet, quiet temperament. He knows basic training and is very mannerly. Buddy likes to go for car rides, and he's an excellent companion on lead. A friendly, loving dog, he just wants to be wherever his people are. Adoption October 2007


Ark cat BosleyBOSLEY is a very large, black neutered male with big double paws, who talks a blue streak and will capture your heart with his big green eyes. Looking out the window is a favorite pastime. He's very good with other cats, and friendly with all people. Bosley is a big baby who loves to be petted and will reward you with a purr that sounds like a an outboard motor. Adoption November 2007


Ark cat SammySAMMY is a a 7 year old neutered male with an endearing personality. Sweet, and a little shy when you first meet him, Sammy is not at all pushy, an affectionate guy hoping you'll know that he likes attention, but lacks the confidence to ask for it. Sammy is mostly a woman's cat, bonding strongly with his person or family (but he'll hide when visitors arrive). Adoption November 2007


Ark cat ShadowSHADOW is a 15 year old spayed beauty. With her soft, shiny fur, she's comforting to pet, and a good thing, too, because Shadow is a lap cat who just loves to be petted. She's a sweet, loving pet in excellent health, now happy to lavish her attention on her own special someone. Adoption December 2007


Ark dog SadieSADIE is a 9 year old, spayed Spaniel mix, thrilled to go for walks and delighted with car rides. Sadie is an affectionate, very sweet girl with people. She is very good about telling you when someone is coming up the driveway, and she has plenty energy if you're inclined to play with her. Sadie just loves to be hugged. Adoption January 2008.

Ark cat JakeJAKE is the quintessential marmalade cat, slim and beautifully marked. Jake is very affectionate and still has lots of love to give. Adoption January 2008.


Ark cat TillyTILLY is a sweet cat who likes to be petted. As friendly as you could ask for, Tilly was surrendered when "Mom" had to go into a nursing home. Adoption February 2008.


Ark cat ParkerPARKER is an 8 year old gray/beige, neutered tiger with a white bib, white mittens, and a white Fu Man Chu mustache. He is a very sweet boy, patient with young children, good with dogs and other cats, playful and protective of kittens and very friendly with people. More like a dog than a cat, Parker thrives on attention, following you everywhere, inside or out. He is a joy to have around if you like an affectionate cat. Adoption April 2008.


Ark cat PippiPIPPI is a 7 year old tiger, a big, beautiful girl with a sweet personality and a unique purr. Pippi is affectionate and loving. Although a bit shy, she is definitely a people cat. Adoption April 2008.


Ark dog AlfredALFRED was found as a stray on a bitterly cold night, badly matted and in need of a good meal and a bath! To our surprise, even with an amateur haircut given here at the shelter, Alfred turned out to be a gorgeous, mocha-colored Cocker, with an absolutely lovely temperament. He LOVES to go on walks full speed ahead, and his little docked tail never stops wagging. Adoption June 2008.

Ark cat SukiSUKI is a dark chocolate brown, sealpoint snowshoe Siamese, with striking blue eyes. A neutered male, Suki is a big boy about 9 years old. Especially fond of laps and pats, he seeks out human attention. Adoption June 2008.
